Four injured in accident Thursday

Four people were injured in an accident at East Perry and Greeley streets Thursday afternoon. Officer Scott McDole of Tiffin Police Department said Reuben J. Guilkey II, 21, of Tiffin, was traveling south in a 2008 Kia Spectra on Johnson Street and stopped for a stop sign. Britani N. Young, 29, of Republic, was traveling east on East Perry Street in a 2011 Mazda CX with Austin Young, 8, and Jahnessa Young, 7, both of Republic, he said. Guilkey attempted to cross the intersection, and Guilkey's Kia struck the front left of the Mazda, McDole said. Guilkey, Britani Young, Austin Young and Jahnessa Young were all transported by Tiffin Fire Rescue Division to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, he said. McDole said Guilkey was cited with failure to yield after stop sign. Everybody was wearing their seatbelts and Jahnessa Young was in a proper booster seat, he said. The accident was reported at 3:30 p.m. and Tiffin Fire Rescue Division, Tiffin Police Department and John's Welding & Towing responded to the scene.
