Ronald Joseph Lucius

Ronald Joseph Lucius, 54, of Springville, passed away Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at IU Health University, Indianapolis. Ron was born Aug. 16, 1964, in Pemberville, to Ralph and Dorothy Lucius. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Teresa: a daughter, KC Lucius; a son, Andrew Lucius; his father and mother; a brother, Craig (Ellen) Lucius and their daughter, Lindsey; and three sisters, Connie (Dan) Nielsen and their three children, Ben, Mallary and Cece (Andy) Hess with their children, AJ, Janay and Jenelle; Lisa (Steve) Smith and their son, Cody; and Nicki (Matt) Rumschlag and their two daughters, Samantha and Taylor. Ron graduated in 1982 from Calvert High School, Tiffin. He was a member of the state champion football teams. He started working in the wholesale industry, where he worked his way up to sales representative. This ambition lead to his job relocation to Bloomingtom, Indiana, and the pursuit of his bachelor's degree in business management. He continued his career in pharmaceutical sales, wholesale sales, and concluded as a field insurance agent for the Knights of Columbus. Ron was a devout Catholic who practiced and preached his infinite faith daily. His smile illuminated any space he entered and he never knew a stranger. He enjoyed being a coach and mentor to his children and the kids of Bloomington, in basketball, softball, cross country, 4-H and the quarter horse communities. He had a passion for caring for his farm, where he raised quarter horses and cattle. Ron's spirit and his cowboy charisma will live on, but his presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will take place 1:30-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2018, in St. Mary Catholic Church's recreation room, Tiffin. Memorial contributions may be made to Monroe County 4-H, 3400 S.
