Migration's parallel to Jews in 1930s

A meme circulated today on social media which brought some thoughts I would would like to share with your readers: The New York Times, Nov. 14, 1938 "Jews on Knees Beg Netherlands Entry; Implore Admission at Border, but Guards Are Doubled," The New York Times, Nov. 26, 2018 "Migrants Rush US Border in Tijuana, but Fall Back in Face of Tear Gas," It doesn't matter under which circumstances these people came to our border – they are here and we, because we knew they were coming, quite ahead of time send military, erected housing for our soldiers, got guns and tear gas ready, etc. Don't you think something could have been put in place for the refugees and asylum seekers? No, we are told these are invaders, bad people, people with guns and want us harm. Trumps base ate it up just like the Germans of the '30s. Lies, lies, lies. The Jew was an animal that had to be destroyed, the Jew is destroying Germany, the Jew takes your work and eats your kids and will kill you! All that and more was fed to the German people, who ate it up without thinking. And that part of history is repeating itself here on our southern border. And today, some people believe every word that falls out of Trump's mouth. I like to see how many drugs and guns and whatever they find in those kids' diapers that will kill us. Or perhaps some of them are suicide bombers and once they cross the border they blow themselves up in a mall. (Actually, we take care of that quite nicely, already). So, the Jews just wanted to live as well and Holland closed its border just like the U.S. did in 1937 when the "ship of the damned with Capt. Schroeder" came with 937 Jewish refugees! And back to Holland there had to go where the Nazis waited with open ovens. I don't know what else to say that will make people understand that we are talking about humans, people whom God made in his image, and you say: "They knew what would happen to them when they started on this journey." Well, the Jews did, too, when they started on their journey to Holland, to Cuba, to the USA, who all sent them back. Why do we repeat these atrocities, why? Why is our "Christian" heart closed and we don't hear our brothers and sisters cries? Why do we make bombs to kill them or why do we — so close to home — use tear gas and guns to kill human beings, why? Has the caravan attacked us yet — the little kids in diapers? What are we defending – a law that could easily been altered just as Trump tries to overwrite several laws constitutional laws already? Also, there is the Geneva Convention which we are a signatory of and if we do harm to asylum seekers, I don't think the world will look favorable toward us. Karin Brown, Tiffin
