Michael Thomas Moody

Michael Thomas Moody, 57, of Findlay, died at 7:23 p.m. Monday, June 11, 2018, at Blanchard Valley Hospice Unit. His 14-month courageous battle against an aggressive Glioblastoma brain tumor finally came to an end. He was born Aug. 10, 1960, in Tiffin, to Gene and Claranne (Nigh) Moody. His father lives in Rancho Cordova, California, and his mother is deceased. He married his best friend and the love of his life, Ann E. Arnold Aug. 1, 1981, and she survives. Also surviving are his two sons, Nicholas G. Moody of Findlay and Thomas M. Moody of Maumee; a brother, Patrick Moody of Fresno, California; and three sisters, Lesa (Tom) Whetzel of Fair Oaks, California, Anne (Joseph) Warnement of Diablo, California, and Barbra Reiswig (Todd) of Rancho Murieta, California. Mike was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, Findlay. Due to his drive and ambition he led a career of entrepreneurship and business owning, which included being the franchisee of two Aarons Sales & Lease stores (Findlay and Lima) and owner of numerous commercial real estate holdings. Mike was drawn to the outdoors, especially being around water and animals, whether he was hunting, fishing, swimming, boating or traveling. Prior to living in Findlay, Mike spent 10 years living in Key West, Florida, with Ann, where they began their entrepreneurial ventures opening a number of retail stores on Duval Street. He really enjoyed athletics and was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan. He was a frequent patron of musical concerts with his family, with a diverse range of genres. Mike was known for his incredible sense of humor and joy of playing pranks. With all of Mike's loves and passions, none were greater than his love for his family. He was the ideal husband and father; he raised his sons into men that will imitate his character, and shared an unconditional love for his wife and soulmate. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018, followed by praying the rosary at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay. A mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018, at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, 750 Bright Road, Findlay, Ohio, with Father Scott Woods, celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery. Memorials may be given to The National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel St., Newton, MA 02458, or Hancock County Veterans Memorial Squad.
