Man charged with complicity to bribery

A New Riegel man has been accused of assisting in an alleged bribery incident. Chase A. Boden, 18, was indicted by a Seneca County grand jury on a charge of complicity to bribery, a third-degree felony, court records state. Boden is accused of aiding or abetting Robert L. Norville III, 19, of New Riegel. Norville is accused of offering or giving a witness or another person an item or benefit with the purpose to corrupt the witness or improperly influence the witness in his testimony in an official proceeding, according to court records. Norville was charged with bribery, a third-degree felony. Boden and Norville's acts allegedly occurred between April 1-4, court records state. In April, more than 40 potential jurors had assembled in preparation for Norville's trial for charges of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony; felonious assault, a second-degree felony; and assault, a first-degree misdemeanor, April 5. During a hearing in a separate room from the potential jurors, Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley postponed the trial until June. Rebeka Beresh, assistant Seneca County prosecutor, had requested the continuance. Norville's attorney, Alex Treece, said he had been given additional information about the case, but objected to the continuance. The additional information included two copies of CDs containing jail calls, according to court paperwork.
