Mark A. Stegman

Mark A. Stegman, 57, of Bellevue, died Sunday, March 25, 2018, at University of Toledo Medical Center following a brief illness. He was born Jan. 20, 1961, in Sandusky, to Delores (DeCaro) (Edwin) Kern and Richard E. Stegman Sr. He married Carolyn Stephens in 1988 at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Mr. Stegman is survived by his wife; three children, Christopher (Desiree Ratliff) Stegman of Clyde, Curtis Stegman of Columbus and Caitlin Stegman of Bellevue; father, Edwin Kern of Bellevue; a brother, Richard Stegman Jr.; a sister, Donna (Paul) Schaffer of Bellevue; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Delores; father, Richard Stegman Sr.; and a brother, Thomas Stegman. Mr. Stegman was in the Civil Air Patrol, worked as a police officer and police chief at several village and municipal departments, a volunteer firefighter and was a federal security officer with the Department of Homeland Security in Toledo. Friends will be received 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, April 2, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 285 W. Main St., Bellevue, OH 44811. His funeral will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Steven L. Hensinger M. Div. officiating.
