Dance studio stages annual recital

The season is coming to a close for In Motion Dance Studio with its 18th annual recital to take place this weekend. The recital, entitled "Weather or Not to Dance," is to feature students showcasing dances, choreography and music related to changing weather conditions, according to studio director Jennifer Karl. Karl said the dancers are to perform with music with weather as part of the title. The recital will feature all of In Motion's dancers in various levels and styles, including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, cheer dance and musical theatre. There will be four performances with two recital shows at 7 p.m. today and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St. Tickets are $12 at the door. The studio also is to incorporate a special graduating senior dance into the recital, in honor of this year's senior students. Seniors to be featured include Lydia Bruno, Rachael Rolsten, Talyssa Atkins, Katelynn Gillig, Brooke Theis, Katie Zirger and Sessile Burks. "All of our students have been working very hard all year long," Karl said. "This will be a great time for the students, their families and the entire community." Although the season will be ending, In Motion has summer classes starting June 26 with an in-house registration 5:30-7:30 p.m. June 12.
