Man served nine-count indictment

Seneca County Sheriff's Office personnel traveled to Georgia and served a man a nine-count indictment over the weekend. Tod W. Scott, 47, had been indicted by a Seneca County grand jury in November and is accused of theft offenses involving two vehicles and more than $70,000. He was charged with misuse of credit cards, a third-degree felony, for an incident May 9, 2015. His indictment states the property involved had a retail value of more than $7,500, and the alleged victim was an elderly person. Scott also was charged with two counts of theft from an elderly person, both fourth-degree felonies. One incident was May 12, 2015, and involved $4,000, and the other was May 14, 2015, and involved $2,000, according to his indictment. Scott also was charged with two counts of grand theft of a motor vehicle, both fourth-degree felonies. The incidents were May 18, 2015, and involved a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado and a 2005 Honda Rebel, his indictment states. Scott was charged with grand theft, a fourth-degree felony, for an incident May 21, 2015, involving $61,862, and theft, a fifth-degree felony, for an incident May 18, 2015, involving $4,000, his indictment states. He also was charged with two counts of tampering with records, both third-degree felonies. One incident was May 18, 2015, and one was June 12, 2015, according to his indictment. Scott's case is to be heard in Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley's courtroom.
