Carol June (Stine) Brown

Carol June (Stine) Brown, who lived most of her 83 years on earth in Tiffin, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2017. After being apart for 16 years, welcoming her into heaven was the love of her life, her husband, M.J. (Ted) Brown, and her parents, Clarence and Lucille Stine. Carol was born Dec. 14, 1933, in Tiffin. Carol and M.J. had three sons, Michael (Kim) Brown, Mark (Brenda) Brown and Matthew (Renee) Brown, all of Tiffin. They shared seven granddaughters, Sonja Brown, Sarha Smith, Rachel (Owen) Sorg, Chelsie (Darin) Moyer, Rebecca (Jared) Shaffer and Madelyn and Brooklyn Brown. She also has one grandson, Michael Justin (Katie) Brown, and 14 great-grandchildren, Jade, Lauren and Collin Phipps, Hannah Bour, Aleis Hop Hill, Brynleigh Moyer, Jack McClelland Moyer, Lilyana and Levi Sorg, Rider, Lola and Oliver Shaffer, Trinity Smith and Ella Lynn Brown. Carol has one sister, Donna Jean (Bill) Meyers, who survives in California. Carol loved going to California with her son, Mark, and spending time with her sister and family whom she cared for greatly. Carol also had a special friend, who was her caregiver and companion, Charlene Raubeson. The family of Carol Brown deeply thanks Charlene for the love, care and joy she brought into Carol's life. Carol and M.J. were faithful members of Melmore Methodist Church for more than 45 years, caring for church members and preparing many meals. Carol and M.J. took their children to church when they were young and gave them their Christian heritage which they still embrace today. Carol enjoyed gardening, traveling and dancing with her husband, as well as watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and play over the years. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her great joy. We thank God for Carol Brown's life. We celebrate and honor Carol's life, as she was a kind and generous woman and we will have a void in our hearts and lives without her. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2017, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883. Funeral will begin at noon Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017, at Melmore United Methodist Church, 6817 S. SR 67, Melmore, Ohio, with viewing at 11 a.m.. Burial will take place in Greenlawn Cemetery following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Melmore United Methodist Church.
