James D. Cray

James D. Cray, 66, of Tiffin, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016, in the emergency room at Fremont Memorial Hospital. James was born Jan. 7, 1950, in McArthur, to the late Charles L. and Eileen (Duffy) Cray. He married Carolyn (Simpson) in McCutchenville in 1970, and they later divorced. James retired from the Ohio American Water Co. after 30 years of service and was a 1968 graduate of Wellston High School. James enjoyed golfing, racing, farming and just being with family and friends. Survivors include a son, Stephen (Niki) Cray of Powell; two daughters, Cynthia (Randy) Harper of Sycamore and Brittany (Derek Lutz) Cray of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Maddie and Mitch Cray, and Austin and Aubrie Harper; a brother, Larry (Connie) Cray of Lodi;, and two sisters, Judy (Keith) Molihan of Wilkesville and Carolyn (Larry) Gray of Wellston. James was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside services for James will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Vinton Memorial Cemetery in Vinton, with Pastor Dan Lamphier officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory in Tiffin. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
