Jason Robert Ulrich

Jason Robert Ulrich, 31, died Friday, June 10, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from cancer. Jason was born, March 4, 1985, in Youngstown, the son of John R. and Katrina (Hess) Ulrich. He graduated from Boardman High School and MCCTC in June 2003. Jason was a member of Carpenters Union Local No. 171 for more than six years and was a journeyman carpenter for Brand Energy, and Infrastructure as a scaffolder. He was a member of St. Luke Roman Catholic Church. Jason was a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Penguins hockey fan. He enjoyed remodeling and construction projects. He enjoyed camping, swimming and hunting, and cherished time with his wife, children and family. Jason is survived by his wife, Courtney N. (Mickle) Ulrich, whom he married June 28, 2014; three children, Chelsea Ulrich, Gavin Ulrich and Makenzie Ulrich; his parents, John and Tina Ulrich of Boardman; a sister, Ashley Ulrich of Atlanta; a grandmother, Mary Ulrich of Columbus; mother-in-law, Beverly Stanley-Shadley and father-in-law, Chuck Shadley of Meadville, Pennsylvania; father-in-law, Brian Mickle of Mississippi; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and many friends from school and work. Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles Ulrich, and Dewane and Gertrude Hess. Family and friends may call 5-8 p.m. today, June 14, 2016, at Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512 and 9-10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church Chapel. There will be a Mass of Christian burial beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2016, at St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman, with Father Gerald DeLucia officiating.
