Mercy changes name again

Mercy Tiffin Hospital has changed its name to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital and remains a member of Mercy Health’s northern Ohio region. The change was announced at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center during the unveiling of a new hospital entrance sign, a release states. Signs across the region are to be changed over the coming year. “Throughout our history, Mercy has evolved but has remained committed to continuing the ministry started by our founders,” said Lynn Detterman, president and CEO at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital. “We are excited to come together under one name as part of a comprehensive effort to transform healthcare to better serve patients in our communities.” Mercy Health is Ohio’s largest health system and fourth largest employer. Mercy Health – Toledo, which includes Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital, is the first of the seven regional markets to undergo the change. Mercy Health operates more than 250 health facilities, including 23 hospitals, eight senior living communities, five hospice programs, eight home health agencies and Mercy Health Life Flight Network and Mercy College, the release states.
