Helen Rose Cassidy | Advertiser-Tribune Helen Rose Cassidy, 89, of New Riegel, passed away at 7:02 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Good Shepherd Home, Fostoria, where she resided the past year and a half. Helen was born Aug. 4, 1926, in Liberty Township, Seneca County, to Francis J. "Frank" and Ida A. (Smith) Scherger. She married Omer J. "Joe" Cassidy April 12, 1947, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tiffin. He died July 4, 1999. Surviving are nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Alpheus, Arnold, Augustus, Wilfred and Donald Scherger Sr.
