Living to serve | Advertiser-Tribune FORT SENECA — Betty Casselman, who turns 100 today, has lived her life serving her country, community and her faith while raising a family in northwest Ohio. Born in Brooklyn, New York, she moved to New Jersey when she was 8 and lived there until she joined the Marine Corps. Casselman served during World War II, joining her cousins and uncle in the Marine Corps. "One Sunday morning — it was Dec. 7, 1941 — that's when there was the attack on Pearl Harbor. At the time, it was a great affront to the American people," she said.
