'Hello Dolly'

FOSTORIA – As the 1800s glide into a new century, a wealthy widow named Dolly Levi is keeping herself busy finding husbands for young ladies, giving dancing lessons and teaching social manners. Following the wishes of her late husband, she is spreading her wealth “like manure” around the community. This is the setting for “Hello, Dolly.” Junior high and high school students are to present the popular musical at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday in Fostoria High School. Director Elizabeth Bellavia has gathered a large cast and a live pit band for the production. The story takes place in New York City and features familiar songs, such as the title tune, “Put on Your Sunday Best,” “Before the Parade Passes By” and “It Only Takes a Moment.” During the show, Dolly manages to match three couples, including herself and businessman Horace Vandergelder.
