New salon opens in Tiffin

People looking for nail treatment and a break from the upcoming Ohio winter should look no further than Paradise Nails and Hair Salon, 9 Sycamore St. Brittany Chapman, co-owner of the salon, said she and partner Tatelynn Carter worked together at another nail salon, and decided they “should just open our own place.” Chapman said another salon was located at 9 Sycamore St., and the setup of the space allowed for a “smooth process” as they prepared to open. As reflected in the name, Chapman said she and Carter wanted to create a relaxing, easy-going atmosphere for customers, making each client’s nail design and salon experience a fun escape. To help create the desired atmosphere, she said, “we painted it all,” making the walls of the salon a sandy beach color and incorporating ocean blue colors throughout the space. “It’s very beachy,” Chapman said. Paradise Nails and Hair Salon opened Friday, Chapman said. She said clientel from their other salon followed the pair to Paradise Nails and have helped give the salon a strong start. As well as professional nail service, Paradise Nails offers services including hair cuts (upon request) and waxing. In the future, Chapman said spray tanning, facials, full-body waxing and lash/hair extensions are to be available. Chapman said nail services include manicures, pedicures, shellac, nail art, full set, color tips and fill with cut down. Birthday parties and bridal showers also can be hosted at the salon, she said. Appointments to reserve the space and stylists for such an event should be made at least a week in advance. Also, Chapman said, Paradise Nails is “kid friendly,” with a dedicated “little kid area” that offers coloring, a Wii and Netflix. The staff at the salon, which includes Chapman, Carter and two other stylists, offers “more professional looking” nail work than other locations that aren’t as specialized, she said. Paradise Nails is open 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. Sunday appointments can be made upon request, she said. Walk-ins and appointments are welcome, and the salon is offering promotional pricing on some services in celebration of its grand opening.
