Saluting the class of 2020

Tiffin City Schools’ transportation department saluted the class of 2020 Wednesday morning. The district’s bus drivers pulled buses into Tiffin Middle School’s parking lot and formed them into a giant “2020” to honor seniors. Randy Conger, Tiffin City Schools’ transportation supervisor, saw the idea on social media, and Greg DeVore, assistant principal at Columbian High School, shared with Conger that his hometown had done it. Conger recalled thinking it was cool and that Tiffin City Schools had to do it. “Everybody else agreed,” he said. Conger estimated he worked on plotting the buses on and off for three hours. “I went through several versions,” he said about the sketches. Conger used a mapping program to figure out dimensions. The district has older buses with yellow roofs and new buses with white roofs. Conger was able to plan for one “20” to include buses with yellow roofs and the other “20” to include buses with white roofs.
