Geary Family YMCA receives grant from Toledo foundation

TOLEDO — The Board of Trustees of the Greater Toledo Community Foundation has awarded Geary Family YMCA in Fostoria a grant from its COVID-19 Response Fund. The award is in the amount of $5,600, a release from Geary Family YMCA states. These funds are to be used to provide safe childcare services specifically to children of first responders and essential workers, the release states. Grants from the Greater Toledo Community Foundation's COVID-19 Response Fund are currently being awarded to help support northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan nonprofits in their efforts to respond to the emergent crisis, the release states. Tim Yenrick, Geary Family YMCA Chief Executive Officer, is quoted in the release, saing, "We are very grateful to be awarded this grant. It will help us with the additional costs incurred to provide a safe, clean environment for the children in the Wonderland Enrichment Center." According to the release, the Geary Family YMCA has been serving the Fostoria community for over 100 years with programs that "nurture the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility."
