GFCF announces two new component funds

FOSTORIA – The Greater Fostoria Community Foundation has announced the establishment of two new component funds – The Widman Family Donor Advised Fund and the #FRONTLINEPROUD Fund. The Widman Family Donor Advised Fund was established by Christopher and Joann Widman as a donor-advised endowed fund, according to a release from the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation. "We're pleased to welcome The Widman Family Donor Advised Fund to the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation," Michele Cochran, executive director of the GFCF, is quoted saying in the release. "We appreciate donors with the foresight to establish endowed funds that create a permanent resource to improve the quality of life in our community. "The Widman's initial gift will grow over time and create a lasting legacy to support charitable causes in perpetuity," she said in the release. Chris Widman also is quoted in the release, saying, "We appreciate the opportunities the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation brings to the community. Fostoria is a fantastic place to live and work. Furthermore, when people come together to 'Pay it Forward', the possibilities are endless." The #FRONTLINEPROU Fund was established with an opening gift from Ron and Evelyn Burns as a donor-advised growth fund, the release states. The primary initial purpose of this fund is to promote unity and recognize frontline workers in various industries related to the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, it states. "The mission of #FRONTLINEPROUD is to show support for frontline workers involved in a variety of industries through a campaign that promotes unity and helps generate funds that will go toward organizations/causes that are supporting or giving back in our community's essential workforce in a variety of ways," said co-founder Ron Burns in the release. "We're honored that #FRONTLINEPROUD has established this new fund through the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation as a way to support the emerging needs of frontline workers in this unprecedented time in history," Cochran is quoted saying in the release. Additional contributions may be directed to the #FRONTLINEPROUD Fund at any time through the Greater Fostoria Community Foundation office at 342 Perry St., P.O.
