Male shot in leg following incident

According to a release issued from the Tiffin Police Department, officers responded to 42 1/2 W. Perry St. for a car that crashed into a house Thursday afternoon.It was further reported that a male with a handgun had fired 5-6 shots at the vehicle and its occupants before the vehicle fled the scene, the statement said.Tiffin Police and Tiffin Fire Rescue Division were requested in the 300-block of S Monroe St. - in front of Columbian High School - for a male who had been shot in the leg. Upon their arrival, Police found the man and vehicle were involved in the first incident, according to the statement.The shooting victim was identified as Bryce J. Snyder. Snyder was transported to Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. He suffered a single gunshot would to his lower leg and was later released Thursday.According to the release, a female passenger of Snyder's, named Meghan Bennett, was taken to Tiffin Police Department and interviewed by detectives. She was later released with the possibility of criminal charges being filed later for her actions in an incident that led up to the shooting.According to a previous release, the shooting suspects fled the scene on foot. Tiffin Police along with assistance from the Seneca County Sheriff's Office and The Seneca County Drug Task Force were able to track the suspects down at Willow Creek Apartments where they were taken into custody without incident. A firearm was recovered off one of the suspects.Detectives reported to the scene to process the two crime scenes and to further investigate. Following the interviews of witnesses, two juvenile males — 14 years of age and 16 years of age — were identified from the Perry Street residence who were involved.According to the release, he 14-year old male was treated at Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital for a possible leg injury alleged to have been struck by Snyder's vehicle during the incident. He was later released to the care of his mother.The 16-year old male was confined at the Seneca County Youth Center on charges of aggravated robbery and felonious assault, the release stated.At this time the Tiffin Police are investigation the circumstances of the shooting. There is no further threat to the community and police believe that all parties involved have been identified and in custody, the release stated.Tiffin Police were aided in the investigation by deputies of the Seneca County Sheriff's Office, the Seneca County Drug Task Force, Seneca County Prosecutor's Office, Tiffin Fire-Rescue, and John's Welding & Towing. As of Friday, the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are expected in the near future.
