Benefit Saturday night for McCutchenville boy

Locals will have an opportunity to donate to a young McCutchenville boy in need Saturday evening. A benefit will be hosted for two-year-old Chandon Bare, son of Brandon and Amanda (Kelbley) Bare, at the Walnut Grove Campground, 7325 S. TR 131, from 5-9 p.m Saturday. There will be live music from the Eric Sowers Band, in addition to a 50/50 raffle, tip books, special games and a live auction, featuring a variety of items donated from others for the cause. Up for auction will be several custom-made tables, a Thomas Kincaid canvas, a fire pit, beer signs, a light bar for a golf cart, a battery-operated grease gun, Ohio State signs and Dale Earnhardt memorabilia, among other things, Brenda Kelbley said. "The benefit is open to the public, and we'll have an outside area with tents set-up for it," Kelbley said. "We are requiring people wear masks." Chandon Bare was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, or ALL, two weeks before his second birthday in March. ALL is also known as acute lymphocytic leukemia and is a cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells, according to the American Cancer Society's website. As the site states, ALL is the most common form of cancer in children. Bare entered a three-year, multiphase treatment plan at Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus this year. To date, he has spent 32 days in the hospital across six inpatient stays and he has undergone eight lumbar punctures with chemotherapy, three bone marrow aspirations, seven blood transfusions and more than 45 chemo treatments.
