Haunting at the Ritz

In the 19th century, movies were introduced to the world. The first movies were silent in black and white, far from the bright, loud movies of today. As movies developed into more complex and detailed events, so did movie theaters. In the late 1920s, Tiffin was home to three theaters. Dan Kerwin and Adam Ritzler wanted to design a theater that was more beautiful and detailed than any other theater in Tiffin. The Ritz Theatre we know today was built in a total of nine months, opening in December 1928. The last theater remaining of the four during the 1920s and 1930s, the Ritz stands as a testament to the era. The theater was last renovated in 1998 to nearly its original condition. The Ritz has stood for nearly 100 years of Tiffin history. This long history leads many to believe that ghosts roam the theater. Paranormal investigations have been conducted inside the Ritz by groups such as Dead Time Connections and Haunted Tiffin Ghost Walk. No particular spirits have been seen. However, orbs are frequently present in pictures and videos taken inside the building. Orbs are said to be spirits floating around. Psychics with the paranormal investigative groups claim they have spoken with many spirits, one in a seven-year-old boy. This story is part two of a series of Seneca County hauntings.
