Reynolds nearly has quintuple-double in Elmwood rout

BLOOMDALE- Blake Reynolds scored 22 points, dished out nine assists, blocked nine shots, stole eight, and had eight rebounds, nearly giving him a quintuple-double in Elmwood's 75-50 win over Danbury Tuesday night. Brady Ziegler added 23 points in the Royal win. He also had seven rebounds. Kade Lentz scored 14 points and dished out seven assists in the Elmwood victory. The Royals used a 20-7 first quarter to set the tone of the game and fend off any Danbury counter. Danbury was paced by Kaden Conrad, who scored 17 points in the loss. Blake Barker scored 15 points in the losing effort. Bradley Murray scored eight in the game for Danbury. Riverdale trounces Arcadia ARCADIA- Drew Frey scored a game-high 13 points and had five steals in Riverdale's 52-34 victory over Arcadia Tuesday night. Riverdale got out to a seven-point first-quarter lead over Arcadia and made easy work of them on the road. Thomas Miller scored eight points, stole nine, and had five boards in the Falcon win. Isaac Holland scored eight points and had five rebounds for Riverdale. Jackson Clark had four points, six rebounds, and a pair of steals in the win for the Falcons. Riverdale's defense stifled Arcadia all game-long, forcing them into 27 turnovers. Arcadia was paced by Evan Cohee, who scored seven points and had ten rebounds. Logan Boes scored eight points in the Redskin loss, six of his points came from the free-throw line. Josh Cassell had six points in the loss for Arcadia. Leipsic downs Vanlue LEIPSIC -- Mason Brandt scored a game-high 21 points, including four 3-pointers, had five rebounds, and dished out four assists in Leipsic's 74-51 thrashing of Vanlue Tuesday night. The win moves the Vikings' record to 7-1. Trey Schroeder scored 13 points and dished out a trio of assists for Leipsic in its win. Jaden Siefker had 10 points in the Viking win. Leipsic had 14 offensive rebounds in the game that led to 18 second-chance points, which was a major key. Joey Bohnam led the way for the Wildcats, finishing with 19 points in the game. Jerome Kloepfer had 14 points in the Vanlue loss. Jared Kloepfer had a dozen points and six rebounds in the losing effort. Stockaders roll past Woodmore OLD FORT — Myles Miller had a double-double and Zach Dewese approached one Tuesday as Old Fort roared past Woodmore 82-42. Miller tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds for the Stockaders (7-1), who led 40-24 at halftime, while Dewese ended with 13 points, eight boards and three steals. Colin Nutter chipped in 14 points and five assists, Casey Clouse added nine points and five assists, Landen Barr had eight points and five assists and Adam Magers scored seven points. Hunter Allen led the Wildcats (4-4) with 15 points and D.J. Melter chipped in eight. Redmen wallop Rangers NORTHWOOD — Dom Settles nearly had a triple-double and Lakai Robinson added a double-double Tuesday as Fostoria thumped Northwood 85-53 in the Northwest Ohio Holiday Classic. Settles keyed Fostoria (5-4) with 20 points, 10 steals and nine assists. Robinson backed him with 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Redmen, who led just 18-16 at the first stop before doubling up Northwood 22-11 in the second period. E.J. Williams and Diaon Springer each added in 12 points for FHS. Jay Moten tallied 12 points and six rebounds for the Rangers (0-3) and Thomas McCrory and Jarek Henry both scored 11 points. Warriors whip Blue Jackets SYCAMORE — Four Mohawk players scored in double digits and another came close Tuesday in a 72-38 win against New Riegel. A.J. Hess netted 19 points for the Warriors (6-2), Tyler Hayman scored 15, Bryce Lange chipped in 11 and Austin Tusing had 10 while Landen Snyder tallied nine. Hayden Hohman and Logan Schalk each scored nine points for the Blue Jackets (0-6) and Carson Whipple ended with seven. GIRLS BASKETBALL Arend leads Blue Devils past VB CAREY — Carey's Sadie Arend scored 10 points, grabbed eight rebounds and handed out four assists on Tuesday in leading the Blue Devils to a 53-40 win over Van Buren. Averie Stewart and Hunter Hart added nine points each and Alaina Tiell had eight in a balanced attack by Carey. Sophia Reineke scored 12 points and Breanna Tabler added nine for Van Buren. WRESTLING Van Buren tops Carey, McComb VAN BUREN -- Van Buren had a number advantage in its tri- dual match against Carey and McComb Tuesday night, and the final score reflected that. The Black Knights received four forfeit victories against the Blue Devils, and defeated them 40-19. Against the Panthers, Van Buren benefitted from six forfeits, and overwhelmed McComb 48-14. Despite that, a number the Van Buren wrestlers who were able to compete impressed. Cody Snyder chief among them. Against Carey, Snyder pinned Conner Slavey at 152 pounds (4:35). Against McComb, Snyder pinned Brady Womack. Nolan Houck (160) also picked up a pin for Van Buren, dropping Carey's Brayden Fredrick in 3:23. Against McComb, Van Buren's Grant Young pinned Owen DeWeese in a 182-pound match. Carey took care of McComb in the night's other match, 27-12. Only four matches were contested. Fredrick (160) pinned Womack in 3:05. Carey also got an 8-2 win from 145-pounder Lance Rickle over the Panthers' Pierce Montana. McComb picked up two pinfalls against Carey. Wilson Grubb (152) pinned Slavey in 1:56, and Deweese flattened Noah Black in a 195-pound match (4:18). Carey had a few highlights in its loss to Van Buren. Gage Summit scored a 10-0 victory over Young in a 170-pound match, and Layne Barger (182) took down Ryan Gifford in 1:27. In the 285-pound match with the Black Knights, Carey's Isaac Carmen needed just 22 seconds to beat Ethan Johnson.
