St. Francis gets grant from Modern Woodmen

St. Francis Spirituality Center has received a matching grant of $2,500 from Modern Woodmen of America for its 2021 Xmas 365 fundraiser. Proceeds support St. Francis Spirituality Center's healing and renewal programs and guest bedroom upgrades. Modern Woodmen members often unite with other members in their area for projects that provide dollars, basic necessities and hands-on labor to improve lives in their local community, according to a St. Francis news release. They believe that fraternalism is a way of caring and giving back. "Rebecca Shank of Modern of Woodmen Fraternal Financial is a wonderful part of SFSC's fundraising volunteer efforts. We appreciate that she helped increase the funds that were raised locally through this matching grant," said Sister Edna Michel, director of St. Francis Spirituality Center. "The Christmas 365 raffle fundraiser is proving to be a wonderful success," Michel said. "Several local businesses partnered with the center this year and for that we are very grateful." Those partners include Reineke Family Dealerships, Coppus Motors, Mazda Direct, LaRiche Toyota, RE/MAX Unlimited Results, Century 21 Bolte Real Estate, Slate Realty, Generations Realty and MLAD Graphic Design Services LLC. Tickets for the yearlong raffle remain on sale through Sept. 30 at www.franciscanretreats.org.
