Reinhart's records rally runner-up Blue Devils

ATTICA — Sarah Reinhart set a pair of meet records Saturday to key Carey's run to a runner-up finish at the Seneca East Tiger Relays.Reinhart ran record times in winning the 1,600 in 5:29.85 and the 3,200 in 12:45.8, helping the Blue Devils score 93 points in the team standings.Oak Harbor claimed the team crown with 172 points. Seneca East ended fourth with 44 points and Mohawk took seventh with 28.Reinhart bettered the mark of 5:47.84 in the 1,600 set by Oak Harbor's Hope Sievert in 2017. Her time in the 3,200 bettered the mark of 12:52 set by Carey's Destiny DeFeo in 2016.Teammate Juliana Boes would have had the meet record in the 3,200 if not for Reinhart. Boes captured second in 12:46.1 in that race, and added a fourth in the 1,600 (5:51.78).Carey claimed two other wins in the meet.Reinhart anchored the winning 4x800 team (10:36.74), and Alaina Tiell took the 400 (1:04.43). Nellie Bianchi, Summer Bouillon and Boes joined Reinhart on the 4x800.Abby Allison, Ellison Roark, Lexi Plott and Tiell added a second in the 4x200 (1:56.72).Thirds went to Tiell in the high jump (4-6), as well as Carey's 4x100 (56.86) and 4x400 (4:55.37) teams.Allison, Tristen Courtad, Alli Kitzler and Roark ran the 4x100. Macy Wentling, Allison, Roark and Tiell ran the 4x400.Lilly Schiefer and Alexis Hicks sparked Seneca East.Schiefer ran second in the 800 (2:38.87) and third in the 3,200 (12:55.5), while Hicks took second in the discus (92-0) and third in the shot (32-9).Haylee Steinmetz backed them with a runner-up finish in the pole vault (7-6), and Amelia Boes ended fourth in the 800 (2:39.87).Emily Klopp's third in the discus (90-9) and fourth in the shot (32-4) topped Mohawk.Other fourths for the Warriors went to Kendyll Gurney in the pole vault (6-6), as well as the 4x100 (58.66), 4x400 (5:07.77) and 4x800 (11:49.32) teams.Onyca Drakeford, Brooklen Helton, Kennedy Cleveland and Elly Coffman ran the 4x100. Wise's record, haul of seconds spark TigersATTICA — Pieter Wise set a meet record as part of Seneca East's 1-2 finish in the high jump, and the Tigers added another win and more than a handful of other seconds Saturday en route to claiming second at their own Tiger Relays.Oak Harbor turned back Seneca East 147 1/2-123 for the team trophy. Carey came in fifth with 42 points and Mohawk tied for seventh (28).Wise cleared 6-1 to capture the high jump, bettering the mark by an inch that Seneca East's Brayden Walker set in 2016 and Oak Harbor's Nate Poiry and Seneca East's Garrick Manning tied in 2017.Isaac Mason backed Wise by taking second in the high jump (5-8).The Tigers' other win came from the 4x100 team of Jesse Beckman, Brock Ferres, Korbin Beamer and Dylan Young (46.15). That same foursome also ran second in the 4x200 (1:38.05).Other seconds went to Beamer in the 100 (12.18), Wise in the 400 (55.53), pole vaulter Kyle Hoepf (12-6), long jumper Wyatt Young (17-4) and shot putter Patrick Snook (40-9).Thirds for the Tigers came from Beamer in the 200 (24.95), Gavin Hargis in the 110 hurdles (17.92), long jumper Austin Perry (16-7), and the 4x400 team of Wise, Ferres, Perry and Mason (3:54.63).Tigers taking fourth were Young in the 100 (12.24), Brycen Lantz in the 3,200 (11:27.21), Hargis in the pole vault (10-0) and the 4x800 team of Wise, Lantz, Caleb Skidmore and Lantz Snavely (9:40.39).Jordon Mattimoe's win in the long jump (17-11) paced Carey, and Hayden Nash added a second in the 300 hurdles (44.87).Thirds came from Zach Moran in the discus (121-2), and the 4x200 (1:39.82) and 4x800 (9:38.1) teams. Anthony Bell, Nash, Mattimoe and Austin Niederkohr ran on the 4x200, and Bell, Brayden Young, Bryce Young and Mason Bouillon ran the 4x800.Zaiden Fry sparked Mohawk by winning the pole vault (13-0), running third in the 100 (12.22) and 400 (56.12) and ending fourth in the 200 (24.98).
