GIBSONBURG — New Riegel found itself on the right side of a pitcher's dual Wednesday at Gibsonburg. Both Kayleigh Lininger and Jenna Bloomfield were dealing in a SBC River clash.The two hurlers combined for 22 strikeouts, but New Riegel took advantage of its four hits to pull out a 4-0 league win.The Blue Jackets (11-0, 6-0 SBC River) got on the scoreboard early with two runs in the top of the first. Gracie Goshe belted a home run (RBI) and Katie Dryfuse (RBI), Jenna Gabel and Aubrey Bouillon (2 RBIs) all doubled for the Blue Jackets.It was certainly enough as Lininger tossed a complete-game shutout in the circle. She gave up three hits and struck out eight with just one walk.Bloomfield fanned 14 and walked three in seven innings for the loss. H-L blasts Raiders, stay unbeatenBASCOM — Lakota started well Wednesday with a pair of runs in the top of the first against unbeaten Hopewell-Loudon in SBC River play.Unfortunately for the Raiders, that was all they scored.Hopewell-Loudon then run-ruled them 13-2 to get to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the league.The Chieftains tallied 13 hits as Isabelle Beidelschies had three (2B, RBI) of them. Taryn Hampton (2B, 4 RBIs), Kylee Malagon (3B, 2B, 3 RBIs), Shea Harper (HR, RBI) and Abbey Yarris (2B) all had two hits. Rams batter rival CareyUPPER SANDUSKY — Upper Sandusky raced out to a 5-0 lead after a five-run first inning and proceeded to score in five of the six innings it batted Wednesday to drop rival Carey 11-4 in N10 play.Jenna Clary led the way at the plate with a double, two singles and three RBIs for the Rams. Stover-led Stockaders dump DanburyLAKESIDE — Old Fort's Jillian Stover delivered a triple, a double, two singles and four RBIs to lead the Stockaders to a 12-6 SBC River victory over Danbury.The game was tied at 6 after five innings before Old Fort struck for six runs in the top of the eighth to blow it open.Audra Miller (2B), Addy Gillmor and Katie Reiter (RBI) all recorded two hits for the Stockaders (5-6, 3-2 SBC River), while Kara Davidson smashed a home run and Brianna Factor drove in three runs. Factor was the winning pitcher going all eight innings. She gave up six runs on 11 hits, while striking out nine and walking a pair. Calvert's Moyer fans 11 in 1-hit shutoutCalvert managed to score just two runs off Sandusky St. Mary's Allison Weilnau Wednesday, but it was plenty as Selah Moyer had her stuff working in the circle.Moyer tossed a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and two walks in a complete-game shutout as the Senecas won 2-0.Caitlyn Borer lined a pair of doubles for the Senecas, while Hannah Miller doubled and singled and Moyer doubled. Tornadoes dominate Ashland 4-1ASHLAND — Columbian traveled to Ashland in the OTCA state team tournament Wednesday and walked away with a 4-1 win over the Arrows. With the win, the Tornadoes advance to face Perrybsurg. They also improved to 9-0 overall this season.At singles, TC's No. 1 Jacob Weingart beat Ryan Frazee 6-2, 3-2 (injury default), while No. 2 Brian Siesel topped Cooper Glazier 6-3, 2-6, 6-0 and No. 3 Trey Shuey beat Ben Sinchok 6-3, 2-6, 6-1.Ashland's No. 1 doubles team of Seth Karnosh and Parker Harris got the lone win for the Arrows with a 3-6, 6-4, 6-1 victory over Andrew Shawberry and Bryce Burns. Rams No. 3 Holden Daris topped Hunter Yancey 6-3, 6-0. At doubles, Upper Sandusky's No. 1 duo of Sam Smith and Ethan Steele dropped Rilee Haas and Zach Carr 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, while the No. 2 team of Aaron MaGinn and Nicholas Wines defeated Seth Abraham and Ryan Roth 6-2, 6-4."This was a big win over a quality opponent," Rams coach Aaron Frazee said.
