TC tennis finishes off perfect SBC season

The SBC Lake Division came to a close Tuesday for Columbian and it was yet another win. This time, the Tornadoes swept Perkins 5-0, to finish the season with a perfect 12-0 mark in the league and 22-1 overall.At singles play, TC's No. 1 Brian Siesel dropped Matthew Harrington 6-1, 6-0, while No. 2 Landin Daum topped Wyatt Delaney 6-0, 6-2 and No. 3 Tyler Yandura beat Will Werling 6-2, 6-1.At doubles, TC's No. 1 pair of Jacob Weingart and Trey Shuey dominated Ian Hemphill and Jaron Ninke 6-1, 6-1 and the No. 2 duo of Andrew Shawberry and Bryce Burns defeated Mike Ingram and Tim Gray 6-0, 6-4."Truly a historic season, great job by all the players," TC coach Chip Weingart said. Then the Bucks tallied two runs in the sixth and won the game 5-4 with a run in the seventh.Both teams had just four hits as Tommy Phillips lined a pair of singles for the Bucks (11-17), while Isaac Hiler singled and drove in a pair of runs, Casey Geissman doubled and Manny Mullins ended with two RBIs. Alex Kanney was the winning pitcher with his 3 1/3 innings of relief of Kaiden Vaughn. Kanney only gave up one hit and struck out five.
