Annual Tiffin Regatta planned for June

The annual Tiffin Regatta, a charitable event sponsored by the Tiffin Elks Foundation and Katie's Bel-Mar Boat Landing, is scheduled for Saturday, June 26. The Regatta is a yearly boat race in the Sandusky River in a homemade plywood boat. A team of up to five people can enter a boat up until the day before the race. Prizes are awarded for race winner, best team theme, best boat design and best sinker, a release from Tiffin Elks Foundation states. The day is filled with various events, raffles, food and live entertainment. Registration forms for teams to enter a boat can be found on the foundation's website at www.tiffinelksregatta.com. The mission of the Tiffin Elks Foundation is to raise money through donations and fundraisers which are used to meet the needs of underprivileged youth in the community, the release states. Despite having to cancel the 2020 Regatta due to Covid-19, the Tiffin Elks Foundation was still able to provide 2,800 bags of groceries to underprivileged youth in Tiffin, it states. Support for the foundation may come in a variety of ways, the release states, including monetary donations, volunteering, entering a boat and product donations. Donations can be made directly on the foundation's website or the Tiffin Elks Foundation Facebook page. If needed, a rain date has been scheduled for July 10.
