GOLF: The FACT (Financial Assistance for Cancer Treatment) golf scramble, sponsored by The Armes Family Cancer Care Center (Blanchard Valley Hospital) is July 25 at Loudon Meadows Golf Club in Fostoria. Entry fee of $50 per person ($200 per team) includes 18 holes, cart, lunch and a chance at hole-in-one-prizes. Sign-in time will begin at 7:45 a.m. With a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. This is a unique senior golf scramble. Three of the four golfers in a four-person scramble format must be 50 years of age and older. Whether you are a competitive golfer, an amateur, or just someone who likes to get outside for a good time, come join the fun-filled four-person scramble. Registration is 220 per four-person team. It will include 18 holes of golf with a cart, drink tickets, a hamburger/hot dog lunch, hole prizes and many door prizes. Prize winners were Dave Depinet (long putt No. 4), Chris Hall (closest to pin No. 8) and Chuck Shellhammer (shortest drive No. 3).* The Senior League at Clinton Heights Wednesday was won by Dave Gase, Mike Mertes, Skip Halcomb and Rex Mellott at 7 under. At under was Herb Love, Dave Seislove, Kyle Hall, Denny Harper and Bill Stockner and the team of Dave Kagy, Harry Smith, Jim Hoffbauer, Butch Whipple and Tom Ardner. Prize holes went to Halcomb (closest in one No. 5), Ray Nutter (closest in two No. 3), Jim Ruess (closest in three No. 9) and Gary Kroeger (long putt No. 7).* Ray Krupp and Gene Sherer lead the Amvets League at Seneca Hills with 7 ½ points going into the final week of the first half. Steve Schafer and Tim Mannas are second with 71 points. Prize holes went to Frank Michniak (long putt No. 9), Rufus Tyree (long putt No. 1) and Ralph Kiser (long putt No. 2).
