Arlington Acres transforms barn into wedding venue

Arlington Acres has announced the completion of its building restoration project at its facility at 3191 W. SR 18. The family farm turned event center has spent the last two years undergoing renovations to create an indoor-outdoor wedding venue. John and Sarah Bolte, the owners of Arlington Acres, got the idea to create a business from their barn in 2019 after hosting a wedding there. But the family history of the property goes back decades before that — John's family has owned the land since the 1950s. Formerly called "King Farm," the property's original family owner was Arlington Dunn — now the namesake of the center. Dunn was an American Civil War Veteran who lived in Hopewell Township in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Bolte's family later purchased the farm from Dunn's family. With the new renovations to the barn came a bar idea, new siding and windows, and air conditioning in the lower level, which has dressing rooms, restrooms and a prep kitchen. An outdoor ceremony space was created as well. Arlington Acres also includes "the patch" — a seasonally available pumpkin patch and roadside stand. The farm is also a member of the Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce. "We're very excited to make this announcement and to continue growing our business here in Seneca County," said Sarah Bolte. "We look forward to celebrating with more couples on their special day."
