Council hears plans for Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru expansion

Tiffin City Council heard the plans for expanding the Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru Monday. The property to be used for expansion, just south of the Dunkin' Donuts' location, is to be annexed into the city by petition from the county through a resolution. The city must wait 60 days before action can be taken. A representative discussed the plans to add additional parking and expand the drive-thru for more efficient vehicle access. The site would need to be zoned by the city to C-2 — General Business, to fit with the site already zoned under that classification. In addition, during the meeting, Mayor Aaron Montz swore in a new officer to the Tiffin Police Department. In other news, the council approved the following ordinances: * Ordinance to authorize the mayor to accept permanent easements from Development Solutions, LLC or reserve permanent easements upon transfer of property, for drainage and sanitary sewer purposes along Maule Road (County Road 11) in Eagle Rock Business Park.* Ordinance to authorize the mayor to accept a deed and easement from Joseph L. Ranker located at 152 Martha St., to construct the new Ella Street River Bridge.* Ordinance to amend the 2021 Budget to appropriate $1,000 into the Parks Department Budget for additional wages for day camp counselors. This approval was done with the suspension of the body's three-reading rule.* Ordinance to amend the 2021 Budget to appropriate $7,650 into the Charter Review Commission Budget for the publication costs of notices of proposed charter amendments. This approval was done with the suspension of the body's three-reading rule.* Ordinance to amend the 2021 Budget to appropriate $135,000 into the General Fund Budget for capital, street and bridge improvements. This approval was done with the suspension of the body's three-reading rule. An ordinance to amend the zoning map of the City of Tiffin to change the zoning classification of seven parcels of land on Adams Street, N. Monroe Street and Frost Parkway — owned by Monument LLC and ERF Partners LLC in the Second Ward of Tiffin and an ordinance to zone approximately 0.357 acres of land owned by DAMSA, LTD. in the Third Ward of Tiffin — were tabled by the council for the purpose of a joint public hearing with the Planning Commission. The hearing has been scheduled for 7 p.m. on Nov. 15 in Council Chambers, 51 E. Market St.
