Meeting notes: Order of the Eastern Star

Officers and members of Fostoria Chapter 94 of the Order of the Eastern Star recently surprised Joanne Sabbagh with a birthday party.Sabbagh has served the Fostoria chapter in many capacities and is currently the organist. A special presentation of her 60-year pin took place at the party.Other members of the Fostoria chapter who received awards and recognized this year include: Alice Earl, Janet Jones and Helen Potter — 70-year ins; Mary Weaver — 65-year pin and Jane Ohl, 60-year pin.During the meeting, treasurer Joy Morse reported that the chapter's breakfast burritos, potatoes and muffins sold out quickly during each of the eight Fostoria Farmers' Markets. Funds will assist with the chapter's scholarship, Christmas for Every Child and other charitable work.Donations were made to the Ohio Grand Chapter Service Dog Fund and the Imagine for Youth foundation.At the 2021 Grand Chapter session, Marla Barber of Warpole Chapter 366 was elected as associate grand conductress and will serve as worthy grand matron in 2025.Members were reminded of upcoming installations at Tiffin 189, Madeleine 204, Findlay 23, Cornelia 93, Warpole 366 and Queen Esther 15 chapters, as well as an educational opportunity in Mansfield.The next meeting of the Fostoria chapter is scheduled for Nov. 1.
