NCOESC names new superintendent

The North Central Ohio Educational Service Center has announced the appointment of Brenda Luhring as their new Superintendent/CEO. Luhring replaces Jim Lahoski, who resigned in August. A graduate of Tiffin City Schools, Luhring attended Tiffin City Schools and received a bachelor of science degree in education at Otterbein College. She received her master's degree in administration and supervision, as well as her superintendent certification from Ashland University. She began her teaching career in Columbus City Schools before moving back to the Tiffin area to teach at Seneca East. She also served as a building principal in Bellevue City Schools for 8 years before moving to NCOESC in 2006, most recently serving as Deputy Superintendent. In a release from NCOESC, Luhring said, "It is an honor to be selected by NCOESC Board of Governors to be the next superintendent. I believe our ESC has the highest quality professionals working to provide services to our districts and other entities. "My immediate goal is to communicate with our district superintendents, listen to their needs and address how we may be able to better serve them, especially in light of Covid-19," she said. NCOESC provides a multitude of services to area schools, including providing districts with specialists in curriculum and state compliance, professional development and special education assistance in areas such as vision, hearing, speech and psychology, early childhood education, technology and more.
