Mary Jane Cosiano

Mary Jane Cosiano, 90, of Findlay, died at 11:45 p.m. Monday, Dec. 13, 2021, at Birchaven Care Center. She was born April 6, 1931, in Urbana, to the late Lee and Dorothy (Brennan) Pence. On Sept. 12, 1953, she married Dr. Frank R. Cosiano and he preceded her in death Dec. 7, 2020. She is survived by her two sons, Dr. Frank A. (Kim) Cosiano of Findlay, and Mark (Paula) Cosiano of Tiffin; two daughters, Teresa (Bob) Spittler of Hudson, and Julie (Steve) Lisano of Sunbury; 10 grandchildren, Michael (Abby) Spittler, Teresa Spittler, Patrick Spittler, Anna (Erick) Siders, Matthew Spittler, Armond (Evelyn) Cosiano, Joseph (Caitlin) Lisano, Michael Cosiano, Paul Cosiano and Luke Cosiano; four great-grandchildren, Ellie Rose Spittler, Ben Wolf Spittler, Callum Wilson Lisano and Juniper Siders; and a sister, Frances Ballard of Lakeland, Florida. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Jim and Bill Pence. She graduated as the Valedictorian of Urbana St. Mary High School. She then graduated as a registered nurse from Lima St. Rita's Nursing School. She was the registered nurse at National Fibers, RCA plant and later at her husband's medical practice. She loved to travel and played tennis until the age of 85. She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, where she attended Mass daily. She was the founder of American Diabetes Association, Hancock County Chapter. Visitation will be noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 750 Bright Rd., Findlay. The funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the church with Monsignor Michel Hohenbrink officiating. Inurnment will take place at the columbarium at St. Michael Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association and online condolences are welcomed at www.coldrencrates funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, Findlay.
