Departing board members recognized

During a regular meeting of the Tiffin City Board of Education this week, two board members were recognized for their years of service. Dr. Jeff Hoyda and Chris Widman will be vacating the board this January. The two will be replaced after new board members won their seats in November's general election. Hoyda served the district for seven years, and Widman served for 16 years. "It has been a pleasure serving with you both and sharing your wisdom," Board member Victor Perez board member said. The board also scheduled its 2022 organizational meeting for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 6 at Tiffin Middle School, 103 Shepherd Dr. Meagan McBride is to serve as president pro tempore, and Dr. Andrew Gase will serve as vice president pro tempore. The board also recognized the retirements of Jean Dom, Eileen Gaietto and Patricia Kauffman. In other news the board: * Heard committee reports.* Approved employment, resignations and retirements.* Approved the contract for the sale and purchase of real property on Ella Street for $1.* Approved the temporary easement of the described real estate to the City of Tiffin in order to facilitate the Ella Street bridge sidewalk project.* Approved the warranty deed between Tiffin City Schools and the City of Tiffin in order to facilitate the Ella Street bridge sidewalk project.* Approved the updated service agreement with Wheeler Pediatric Speech Therapy LLC, aka Wheeler Pediatric, in the amount of $75 per hour for in-person care and $60 for teletherapy.* Approved the updated education services agreement with North Central Ohio ESC for educational services provided at Tiffin Developmental Center, in the amount of $478 per resident receiving services.* Approve the 2022-23 Columbian Curriculum Guides, as presented.* Approved an overnight Wrestling trip Dec. 18-19, to the Archbold Fricker's Duals.* Approved an overnight Wrestling trip Dec. 29-30, to the Brecksville Invitational.* Approved the client services agreement with Schoolforce Solutions for speech-language therapy services, in the amount of $89 per hour.* Approved the research authorization agreement with Fallon Research & Communications, in the amount of $15,500.
