Grammer completes Tiffin expansion, now hiring

On Wednesday, Tiffin automotive manufacturer Grammer announced the completion of a year-long expansion process at its local facility. The expansion involved equipment transfers — over the course of the year, Grammer has moved a dozen additional machines into its plant at 1441 N. Maule Rd. With the expansion complete, Grammer is now looking to hire new staff members to manage the machinery. Currently, the company employs 316 people in Tiffin, and it expects to add 12-15 additional press operators, a release from Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership states. "I'm proud that Grammer Americas has chosen to invest in Tiffin and bring these new machines to our plant," said Plant Manager Christian Tooman in a release. "We are looking to hire more staff soon as we continue to increase our production." Over the past year, Grammer has moved in four blow molding machines and eight injection molding machines, some new and some transfers from other plants in Jefferson and Delphos. The plant Grammer currently operates in Tiffin was formerly owned by Toledo Molding and Die Inc. Grammer acquired the company and all of its facilities over in 2018. The TMD plant was established in Tiffin's Eagle Rock Business Park in 2003. Grammer focuses on supplying headrests, armrests, center consoles and interior components to car manufacturers and system supplies of the automotive industry, as well as producing seats for the commercial vehicle industry.
