Anthony O. Sims

Anthony O. Sims, 30, of Forney, Texas, and a former Tiffin and Bloomville resident, passed away Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021, at his home in Texas. Anthony was born Sept. 16, 1991, in Tiffin, to Tony Sims of Bellevue and Denise Arnold of Tiffin. Survivors include his stepfather, Brad Arnold of Tiffin; eight siblings, Kori Tyree of Tiffin, Amanda (David) Kessler of Tennessee, Bridgette Breeding of Glencoe, Kentucky, Bradley (Summer) Arnold of Kauai, Hawaii, Courtney (Ryan) Lyon of Tiffin, Skyla (Selvin) Hudson of Forney, Texas, Erica (Chris) Collins of Clyde, and Ean Sims of Bellevue; grandparents, Gene (Leann) Norman of Bloomville; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond "Buzz" and Evelyn Cooley; paternal grandparents, Opal "Faye" and Lamoyne Sims; uncle, Scott Sims; and a nephew, Alijah Paul McCallister. Anthony was a 2009 graduate of Pleasant Grove High School, Texarkana, Texas, where he played baseball and football. His love of baseball and football continued throughout his life. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan. Early in life, Anthony played for different baseball teams, from T-ball through high school, starting at Tiffin Columbian and transferring to Pleasant Grove during his junior year. After graduating, he played semi-pro for Tiffin Travelers, plus others. He loved being on the field, either playing first base or pitching. Anthony loved being an uncle to all his nieces and nephews and spending time with them. There will be a celebration of Anthony's life from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at Lindsey-Shook Funeral Home, 3085 S. SR. 19, Bloomville. There will be no burial at this time.
