A summary of Tiffin's 2022 budget

Tiffin City Council approved the city's 2022 Budget on Dec. 20 during a Committee of the Whole meeting. Throughout December, council members had discussions on the proposed expense budget, which totals $43,128,069. The budget includes a 3.5% pay raise with Normal Longevity Raises and an increase to $9.30 of the Ohio Minimum wage as of Jan. 1, 2022. Health Insurance — Used will see a 5% increase in premiums, with adjustments possibly needed after the benefits sign-up. The 2022 Budget includes transfers of income tax funds. The Seneca County Joint Justice Center has $108,432 budgeted for lease agreement and $11,255 for Capital Improvements. Notes will be due in June for the Progress Parkway Fair Lane Project and are to be bonded There were new funds created in the 2022 Budget — 293 Ella Street Bridge ($2,000,000); 297 American Rescue Plan Act Fund ($1,841,733); 330 Fire Vehicle Fund 2022-2031 ($62,548).
