Cedar Point gives update on Castaway Bay

SANDUSKY — Cedar Point recently provided some new details into ongoing renovation work at Castaway Bay, an indoor water park in Sandusky. In an online posting, Tony Clark, the amusement park's main spokesman, provided the following insight: Work continues on our indoor water park hotel, and we have some new construction photos to show you. Let's get started with the entrance. It was already a pretty open space, but we've opened it up even more and rearranged a few things. One of the biggest changes is around the front desk. The shipwreck that you know and love is still "wrecked," but we've pushed the side of the ship back a little bit so now it appears as a whole display (the side of the ship used to face the front desk). Further down the same hallway, the barriers between the dining locations and the hallway have been removed and are being lowered so you have a nice clear view of the water, no matter where you are in the space. Guest room hallways are getting brighter in preps for the theming and final color schemes. But inside the guestrooms, (the) massive porthole windows will give you the feeling of being right near the sea. And right near the "sea," we continue to update the exterior colors, surfaces and outside decking along the waterfront.
