Tiffin native named Minnesota Attorney of the Year

Tiffin native and 1981 Columbian High School graduate Randall Knutson was recently named 2021 Minnesota Attorney of the Year. Knutson was awarded the honor for his legal work on a Minnesota sexual abuse case. Knutson is a partner and attorney of the Knutson and Casey Law Firm, specializing in personal injury and criminal cases in Mankato, Minnesota. He has held the title of Minnesota Super Lawyer, and is a past president of the 6th District Bar Association, a release from the Knutson Casey law firm states. The case that resulted in the appointment of the 2021 Minnesota Attorney of the Year award was a civil claim against a maintenance man, the manager and the management company, which resulted in intensive and successful litigation. Knutson and his staff worked closely with the family to procure a confidential, structured settlement prior to trial, that will allow the victim to attend college and have financial stability into adulthood, the release states. Without the dedicated work of Knutson and the team at Knutson and Casey, the family would have been evicted and others at the apartment building would still be at risk, the release states.
