Council approves playground contract

During a meeting of Tiffin City Council this week, a contract to install a new, all-inclusive playground equipment at Hedges-Boyer Park was approved. The contract is for the amount of $708,872 for the expense of equipment with GameTime through DWA Recreation, Inc., using the Omnia Partners cooperating purchasing program. The new equipment will replace the current playground equipment at the park. The approval of the ordinance was done with the suspension of the body's three-reading rule to lock in the purchase price of the equipment. On another matter, the council approved appropriating $$2,500 into the Mayor's budget and $3,100 into the Park and Recreation budget for the spring and fall cleanup of the East Green property for the remainder of the calendar year.
