Downtown Fostoria hosting open house

FOSTORIA — Eleven businesses are scheduled to participate in hosting special events, activities and deals in next weekend's first Downtown Fostoria Spring Open House, scheduled for 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday and Saturday.Thistle Exchange, 210 S. Main St., hosts seasonal open houses throughout the year at its Findlay location to showcase its changing seasonal inventory, and it was planning host a spring open house at its Fostoria location on Friday and Saturday. Shop owner KJ Newcomer and Sarah Stephens Krupp, chamber/small business director of the Fostoria Area Chamber of Commerce, put their heads together, decided to extend the invitation to all downtown businesses to participate and the open house was created."Downtown Fostoria welcomed seven new businesses last year and we are excited to invite people to come spend some time downtown and stop into the new businesses and continue to support the long-time downtown businesses while experiencing the artwork and beautification projects," Stephens Krupp said.Thistle Exchange will be completely decorated for spring, while Beyond Laser Creations will debut its new, permanent location at 101 S. Main St., and host an Easter egg hunt for store specials.Java's Enchanted Bean, with its location at 125 S. Main St., still in progress, will have coffee available inside Thistle Exchange.One Bowl, 115 W. Center St.; Whippy Dip, 400 St. Main St.; and Red's Pizza, 381 Perry St., will offer food specials, with One Bowl featuring a variety of sandwiches on its menu for event weekend.Wavy Baby Clothing, 110 E. North St., and Alan Kaminsky Jewelers, 111 S. Main St., will have storewide sales.Wolph Chiropractic Wellness Center, 123 S. Main St., will be open Friday, with the public welcome to stop in and learn about its services.The UrbanWoody Brewery, 105 E. Tiffin St., will open at noon on Saturday and host live music and a food truck.Downtown ReEVENTed will be open both days and feature event rental items for graduation parties, bridal showers and other spring and summer events, and the Easter Bunny will be present from 1-2 p.m. Saturday.A complete list of participating businesses' addresses, their respective events and hours of operations may be found under the Things to See and Do tab at www.fostoriaohio.org.
