Sentinel FFA hosts annual banquet

The Tiffin-Sentinel FFA hosted its annual FFA banquet at the Sentinel Career and Technology Center in Tiffin. At this event, members of the Tiffin-Sentinel FFA were awarded for their achievements and accomplishments throughout the year. Some of the awards areas in which students received recognition were: FFA fruit sales, Various CDE events, officer awards and outstanding member awards. This event was a completely student-run event, held by the Tiffin-Sentinel FFA officers. Everyone enjoyed a meal, and the upcoming FFA officer team was announced. The 2021-22 officer team members are President – Caroline Dye, Vice President – Emma Burnside, Secretary – Alana Fox, Reporter – Pandora Aiello, Treasurer – Jordon Stansbery, Student Advisor – Brody Boes, and Sentinel – Travys Wise. Certain members were given star awards for their continuous help and hard work given throughout the whole year. The Star Greenhand award is given to outstanding first-year FFA members and this year it was awarded to Anna Chwalek. Star Chapter Farmer award went to Alana Fox. The star junior award was given to Emma Burnside for all the hard work she has put into our FFA In the Independent Living Class 1 went to Seth Miller and the Star Independent Living 2 award went to Mason Smith. The 110% award is given to members who go above and beyond and put over 100% into all their work. This year, this award was given to Lane Churchill, Jayden Oyster, Travys Wise, Trever Wise, Caroline Dye and Pandora Aiello. The Senior 110% award goes to the senior that had attended various events and put many hours into this FFA chapter. This award, this year, went to Brody Boes. Brody received a monetary gift sponsored by Ag Credit of Tiffin for earning this honor. Senior Jordon Stansbery was awarded the DeKalb Achievement Award. Taeller Rice earned the Star in Agribusiness award this year. This year 4 members earned their State FFA, they are Emma Burnside, Greta Naugle, Travys Wise and Trever Wise. Throughout the evening we recognized various FFA members, supporters and guests. We hope everyone had a great time. At the conclusion of the banquet, we announced the 2022-23 Officer team, President – Emma Burnside, Vice President – Travys Wise, Secretary – Trever Wise, Reporter – Anna Chwalek, and Treasurer – Alana Fox. We look forward to another exciting year and wish everyone good luck in the future. Congratulations to the four graduating seniors of the agricultural and horticulture programs.
