Jerry Brandt Weininger

Jerry Brandt Weininger, 84, of McCutchenville, passed away unexpectedly Nov. 18, 2021, at his home. Jerry was born in his family home Feb. 17, 1937, to Gier and Corrinne (Brandt) Weininger. Jerry married Ruth (Marian Lehman) in 1958 and she survives. He fathered four children, Jody Karg (Thom Beery) of McCutchenville, Rick (Gabriel) Weininger of Dublin, Scott (Terri) Weininger of McCutchenville and Jennie Cassidy of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. He leaves 11 grandchildren, Jason Romanko, Laura Parsell, Pete Romanko, Chad Romanko, Joseph Weininger, Brandi Carper, Breanna Stine, Brooke Weininger, Bryen Cassidy, Noel Godwin and Brittney Cassidy, and seven great-grandchildren. Jerry is also survived by a brother Joe (Juli) Weininger, and sister-in-law, Virginia Weininger, both of Sycamore. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gier and Corrinne; a son-in-law, Garry Cassidy; a brother, Ray Weininger; and an infant brother, Gier Lionel. He also leaves behind a beloved pet, Kitten. Jerry graduated from McCutchenville High School in 1955 and Heidelberg College in 1959 with a BS degree in education. He met and married his wife Ruth while attending Heidelberg. Jerry taught school in Fostoria and Bellville before serving on survey crews for the State of Ohio and Wyandot County. After earning a private surveyor's license, he established a lifelong surveying business primarily in Wyandot and Seneca counties, with offices in Tiffin and his home residence. Jerry was a strong biblical scholar and was a lifetime member of Trinity United Church of Christ, McCutchenville. He taught various Sunday school classes and helped with youth work. Jerry was a member of the Welcome-In Class and preached as a guest lay minister for several area churches. Jerry enjoyed family gatherings, watching his grandchildren play sports and studying and advising others on the stock market. He played on and captained church dart ball teams in Wyandot and Seneca County leagues for many years. He also enjoyed jogging and picking up litter in Scutch and the surrounding area. Jerry was laid to rest with services Nov. 22, 2021, at Bethel Cemetery east of McCutchenville. May he rest in God's peace forever.
