Perkins to seek mayors unexpired term

Tiffin City Councilmember Zack Perkins has announced he has submitted the required documents to Tiffin City Council for consideration of Mayor Aaron Montz's unexpired term. "The past two weeks have been a rollercoaster of emotions for me," Perkins said. "I was completely shocked when I was notified that the mayor was going to resign and move on as the CEO and president of Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership." Perkins said after Council President Bridget Boyle announced she would not be fulfilling the mayor's term, he began to receive requests from citizens, friends and neighbors asking him to run for the mayor's unexpired term. "After careful consideration, I have decided to pursue the vacated seat and plan to run for a full term in 2023," Perkins said. Perkins is currently the chair of the Streets, Sidewalks and Sewer Committee and serves on the Personnel and Labor Relations, Economic Development and Downtown Planning, Downtown Design committees and is city council's representative to T-SEP. Perkins is a graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School and Leadership Seneca County. He is currently self-employed and does freelance work in business management/operations and human resources. He has over 22 years of business management experience and large corporate operations as well as small locally owned businesses. "I take my bid for mayor of Tiffin very seriously," Perkins said. "I know and understand that it is more than a full-time position, it's a lifestyle." Perkins continued, "Following in the footsteps of Mayor Montz will be no easy task, but I believe that we share many values and beliefs in the way the city needs to be run. We must continue pursuing growth while making every dollar count."
