SCAT shuttle system gets new route in Tiffin

Seneca-Crawford Area Transportation launched a new shuttle system in 2021, welcoming four shuttles into the area transportation system for public use. Recently, the shuttle system has added a new route to complement what was provided at the system's launch. Shelton Shuttle has implemented the new route: the Red Line Flex Route. When the shuttle service launched last year, it began by offering the Blue Line Flex Route, which it still offers, albeit with a few changes to its schedule. The goal of creating the Red Line Flex Route is to provide transportation availability to lower-income residents, to get where they need to go and get them into the Blue Line easier, said Lead Dispatcher for Shelton Shuttle Dani Flanagan. The new Red Line Flex Route operates Mon–Fri from 8:45 a.m.-4:30 p.m., with a driver break from 12:30 p.m.-1 p.m. A $1 charge is required to ride, exact fare only. The Red Line Flex Route will make the following stops during weekdays: City lot 6 Seneca County DJFS SCAT Transportation Country Set Apartments (Siesta Drive) St. Francis Campus Corner of Bryden and Gross streets. Krout School Corner of Gibson and Mohawk streets Highland Trailer Park South Ridge Trailer Park Corner of Gary Lane and Longfellow Drive. Duchess Lane and Morningside Drive Court Street (Justice Center) According to a pamphlet provided by Shelton Shuttle, free transfer from the red to blue routes will be available. Routes may also detour up to ¾ mile from the mapped route, but reservations are required before detouring and are subject to availability.
