"Anything Goes" cast announced

The Ritz Players will present "Anything Goes," the musical, beginning next week. Anything Goes contains music and lyrics by Cole Porter, and is based on the original book by P.G. Wodehouse and Guy Bolton, and Howard Lindsay and Russel Crouse, as well as the new book by Timothy Crouse and John Weidman. The show is about the S. S. American sailing between New York and England with a comically colorful assemblage of passengers: Reno Sweeney, a popular nightclub singer and former evangelist, her pal Billy Crocker, a lovelorn Wall Street broker who has come aboard to try to win the favor of his beloved Hope Harcourt (and is engaged to another passenger, Sir Evelyn Oakleigh), and a second-rate conman named Moonface Martin, a.k.a. "Public Enemy No. 13." Song, dance, and farcical antics ensue as Reno and Moonface try to help Billy win the love of his life. Dates for the musical are at 7:30 p.m. on July 8, 9 and 16, and at 2 p.m. on July 17, at The Ritz Theatre, 30 S. Washington St. Admittance for adults is $18 and $12 for students.
