New Riegel selects new treasurer

NEW RIEGEL --- At their July 19 special meeting, the New Riegel Local School District Board of Education approved a contract with Brad Radison to serve as the district's new Treasurer effective December 1, 2022. Radison will direct the treasurer related items of the district which includes payroll, accounts payable and receivable, all state and federal reporting, the development of the annual district budget and the district's five-year forecast. He will be employed at New Riegel Local School as the Assistant Treasurer starting August 1, 2022 and will work alongside current treasurer Jane Schalk until she retires on November 30, 2022. Currently, Radison serves as Senior Accountant with Sutton Bank in Attica and Fiscal Officer for Seneca Township. He has a Bachelor of Science and MBA from Bowling Green State University where he specialized in finance. He has been married to his wife, Kim, for 18 years. They have five children,Teddy 16, Nina 14, Reed 12, Everett 9 and Nora 8. The board and treasurer search committee screened and vetted the credentials of eight potential candidates. Two board members, the current treasurer and superintendent conducted five first round interviews on June 7 and June 9 and on June 20, three finalists were brought in for final-round interviews. The final interviews on June 20 included the entire board of education, current treasurer and superintendent. New Riegel Local District Board of Education President Elizabeth Kummerer said, "Mr. Radison brings a valuable background as a Senior Accountant of Sutton Bank and Treasurer of Seneca Township and will be an asset to our school as well as our community. His years of experience as a financial leader will benefit our district for years to come." Superintendent David Rombach, stated, "Mr. Radison has all of the right experiences to make him an effective treasurer taking over for our retiring treasurer Mrs. Jane Schalk, who has done an excellent job being a steward of the district's finances for the past 25 years." Mr. Radison noted on his application: "I feel that I would be a valuable asset to the New Riegel school district due to the fact that I bring a unique work combination from both my Senior Accountant position and my Fiscal Officer position. In my Senior Accountant position, I am in charge of many different accounting aspects that would be valuable tools for me to bring to New Riegel. In my Fiscal Officer position, I am in charge of all financial aspects including preparing the annual budget. Both of these roles align with the treasurer position at New Riegel Local School District."
