Fair Queen announced

Yesterday evening during the opening day of the Seneca County Fair, Ava Lucius was crowned as the 2022 Jr. Fair Queen. Lucius is the daughter of Nathan and Brenda Lucius, and will be a senior this fall attending Sentinel Career and Technology Center. She is also a member of 4-H Homeschoolers 4-H Club. Taking the place of runner-up was Alexis Margraf, who will be a senior at Seneca East High School this fall. There were no King contestants this year. "I'm looking forward to representing the Seneca County Fair the best that I can and representing 4-H," Lucius said. "I've been involved with the fair my whole life, so this definitely means a lot and is something I've always wanted to do." Lucius was crowned by last year's king, Trenton Horner and queen, Emma Charlton. Gidge Sours, Royalty Superintendent of the fair, said the 2022 Fair Queen will "stay active during the fair attending as many events as possible, travel to other surrounding fairs and participate in parades and festivals." "The 2022 Seneca County Fair Queen will also have the opportunity to represent our county in January at the OFMA convention and run for the Ohio Fairs Queen who then represents the whole state of Ohio," she said. Judging for the queen candidates consisted of an in-person interview with a panel of 3 judges, and a stage interview during a July 23 luncheon.
