Author tells tales of suspense

Telling tales of suspense is the art of author Dennis Shock, a writer who grew up in Bloomville and graduated from Columbian High School. Shock graduated in 1983 from Columbian, and then attended Bowling Green State University. According to a press release, he has lived in Columbus, Ohio, Woodstock, Georgia, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Bremerton, Washington. He now lives in Evans, Georgia, writing with the goal "to reach as many people as possible" with his stories. As an independent author on Amazon, Shock has published two novels in his James Brickman crime series, "The Link" and "Justice Guilty," in addition to a prequel novelette, "First Murder." A third book in the series will soon be released. Shock's books are available on Amazon, according to the release, and are "free on Kindle Unlimited and inexpensive to buy." "The Link" also is available at the Bliss Memorial Library in Bloomville. In the release, Shock states that while his books are based in the Pacific Northwest, "there will be characters from, or mysteries in, Bloomville or Tiffin as the series progresses." "I like to stay true to real settings and places," he said. Shock is married to Sue (Weller), who also graduated from Columbian in 1983, and has spent the last 15 years in various areas of the healthcare field, according to the release. He also has opened more than a dozen restaurants as a manager, franchise consultant and operating partner.
